Search Engine Optimization Fundamentals

The objective of this class is to introduce students to the techniques of organic search engine optimization and to offer guidelines on the basic steps necessary for enhancing website visibility.
Course topics include, among others: how search engines work, the concept of keyword popularity and competitiveness, choosing and inserting keywords in the page html code and using them as anchor text, structuring site architecture, navigation and internal linking, analyzing competing sites using search engine operators, and avoiding common mistakes.
